A place for long-form thinking
Your thinking, remembered.
For writers and researchers: talk for thirty minutes, get a structured writeup, and build a body of thinking you can search for years.
Free plan: 5 thoughts. No card.
The output
One recording, one writeup.
Each thought comes back as a note you can read, return to, and search. The structure is inferred from what you said, so no two writeups look the same.
An example thought.
The return is the hard part
Theme · memory and returnMost tools solve the first ten minutes: getting the thought out of your head. The harder problem is the fourteenth day, when you need the paragraph you half-remember and cannot find.
Three things seem true:
- A note you never reopen is a receipt, not a thought.
- Search only helps if you remember the word you used.
- The useful unit is the argument, not the recording.
Open question: does a thread need to be curated to feel like yours?
Capture is solved. Memory is not.
Your phone transcribes a walk for free. It will not tell you what you argued three months ago, which paragraph you half-remember, or how the thing you said this morning changes it.
So the useful sentence stays buried in a voice memo, a notebook, or a transcript you never reopened. The work is not capturing it. The work is finding it again, and knowing what it connects to.
Finity Thoughts is built for that second job. A recording becomes a written note; the notes become a body of thinking you can search by phrase and read in relation to each other.
The unit of value is not the note. It is everything you have said.
How it works
Record, read, return.
Talk for up to thirty minutes
Open the recorder and talk. No outline, no stopping to type, no bot sitting in a meeting.
Get a writeup, not a transcript
Each recording comes back with a title, the argument, the themes it touched, and the open questions. A follow-up rewrites the same note with both recordings.
Come back to your thinking
Search the words you used. See what earlier thoughts share. On Pro, export the whole thing as Markdown when you start drafting.
What your thoughts do
Memory, with handles.
Follow-ups stay in one thought
Record a second pass on the same idea. The writeup is rewritten with both recordings, instead of splitting the argument across two notes.
Search the words you actually used
Full-text search runs over titles, writeups, and transcripts. The half-remembered phrase is enough.
Related thoughts, without a graph
Open a thought and see earlier ones that share its vocabulary. No backlinks to maintain, no ontology to design.
Private by default
New thoughts are yours alone. Nothing is published unless you publish it.
Sharing that stays small
Send one thought as an unlisted link. Readers see the written note, never the audio or the transcript. Revoke it whenever you like.
Markdown, ready for Obsidian
Export one file per thought with frontmatter, the writeup, the transcript, and the audio. It opens without a plugin.
Who it is for
Built around one long piece of work.
For
Writers and independent researchers
You are writing an essay, a paper, a book, or a report, and you already think out loud. The work takes weeks or months, and the material is often unpublished.
Not for
Meetings, reminders, dictation
No bot, no calendar, no attendees. No short notes, tasks, or second brain. If you need a transcript by the end of the call, use a tool built for rooms.
If you need to remember what you thought six weeks ago, this is the right tool.

Questions
Before you sign up.
Who can read my thoughts?
Only you, by default. A thought becomes readable by others only when you publish it at an unlisted link. That page shows the written note only: never the recording, never the transcript. You can revoke the link at any time.
Why Google sign-in?
One provider means no passwords to store, reset, or leak. We ask for your name, email, and profile photo. Your Google account is the only key to your thoughts, so keep access to it.
What happens to the audio?
It is stored privately and used to transcribe the thought. You can play it back from the thought, and it is never included in a share link. Deleting a thought deletes its recordings.
Is this a meeting recorder?
No. There is no bot, no calendar, and no attendees. You record on your own, on purpose, for up to thirty minutes.
Keep the next one.
The thought you have on the walk is the one you will want in six months. Record it, and let Finity Thoughts keep it.
